WHAT IS THE WHOLE30?

The Whole30 is a thirty-day reset that eliminates foods that are potentially harmful to your body. It aims to curb cravings, heal your gut, and boost your metabolism. It is NOT a diet, a detox, or a weight loss program (no counting calories!). If you have unexplained trouble sleeping, low energy, achy joints, skin conditions, digestive issues, allergies, anxiety or trouble losing weight, chances are you DO have foods in your diet that are keeping you from feeling 100% you. Why not push reset and eliminate potentially harmful foods, focus on real, whole foods and begin to heal your body? Experiment with what foods might be affecting you and change your life! 

For 30 days you will eliminate foods that are problematic in four areas: your cravings, metabolism, digestion, and immune system. Without these triggers, you will be able to pay close attention to non-scale victories (NSV) such as energy, sleep, digestion, mood, cravings, focus, anxiety, self-confidence, chronic pain or fatigue, athletic performance and recovery, and any number of other symptoms or medical conditions. After 30 days you will carefully reintroduce each food group back into your life and pay even more attention to how each food affects those NSV's above.

RULES

Yes: Eat meat, seafood, and eggs; vegetables and fruit; natural fats; and herbs, spices, and seasonings. Eat foods with a simple or recognizable list of ingredients, or no ingredients at all because they’re whole and unprocessed.

No: sugar (of any form), alcohol, grains, most legumes, dairy, some additives (carrageenan, MSG, or sulfites), baked goods, junk foods, or treats with “approved” ingredients, and DO NOT step on a scale. ​
